Landry Jones - the Key to SB 51 (APRIL FOOLS)

I wrote this article for April Fools day. I hope it's as fun to read as it was for me to write. 

Nobody wants so say it, but it's the truth. Big Ben is OLD. Steelers fans are anxious for a 7th Super Bowl, a 7th Lombardi trophy, but the only way this is possible is through Landry Jones. 

This isn't the news you want to hear, but the news you need to here.

We saw it last year, he can't make the same throws he used while he was in his prime. You see quarterbacks like RG3 & Johnny Manziel escape the pocket and its clear Ben will never get to that level. You can't ignore his injuries either. Last year, anytime he'd take the lightest, cleanest hit he wouldn't be able to get back up. It's a hard truth, but Ben is soft in his old age.

This brings me to the purpose of this article. The golden boy, the rising star: Landry Jones.

Call me crazy, but I believe in this young man. He brings something to this team that Pittsburgh has never seen. He gets a lot of crap, but most fans cannot properly comprehend is ability & potential. His 6'3" 225 lb frame is perfect for the modern quarterback. He can make all throws, he can move around the pocket, and he has the intelligence to master the game. We saw it in his limited playing time this year, and we'll see it even more this year.

Pittsburgh is going to enter the 2016 season with Ben starting, but Landry taking over is inevitable. Whether it comes from injury or poor play, it's coming.

Don't discount the idea of trading Ben either. Many teams now-a-days are desperate for quarterbacks and would give a lot for a fading star like Ben. The Steelers would be seen as geniuses next Feb when Landry Jones wins Super Bowl MVP while Ben is watching from his couch eating chicken wings. Make it happen Steelers!
